International patients who arrive prepared.
Colombia Heart is an independent guide, run from Medellín, for US and Canadian patients considering scheduled cardiac surgery and procedures in Colombia. We are looking for accredited hospitals, IPS and specialists who want to receive them.
- No per-patient commissions
- English-language patient communication
- Profiles with verifiable sources
What kind of patient reaches you
The site is built to filter before a patient ever writes to you. We publish who should not travel, how long to stay and which records to bring.
Stable and scheduled
Acute cases are not travel cases. We say so on every page and in our guide to who should not travel.
With records
Before requesting a quote we ask for the cardiologist's recommendation, echo, ECG, cath or CT report and a medication list.
With realistic expectations
They arrive having read sourced price ranges, length-of-stay timelines, fitness-to-fly guidance and the altitude question.
What we handle on our side
English-language communication
We handle English communication with the patient before and after the trip, so your team can focus on clinical care.
Trip logistics
Lodging near your institution, transfers, a companion plan and a flight date that respects published fitness-to-fly guidance.
A sourced profile
We publish your accreditation and programs with a source and date. If something is incomplete or outdated, send us the source and we correct it.
Patients arrive comparing prices. This is the same chart they see on the site:
Ranges, not quotes. "Thin data" means the Colombian figure rests on one or two published sources, so treat it as a starting point. Device-heavy procedures appear to save the least, likely because the imported device is a large, fixed share of the cost. COP converted at 3,306.86 per USD (TRM, September 28, 2026).

In Canada, specialists surveyed by the Fraser Institute in 2025 reported a median of 19.6 weeks from GP referral to elective cardiovascular surgery. Source: Fraser Institute.
A flat services fee. Never per patient.
We do not charge a commission per referred patient or a percentage of any procedure.
Provider agreements are written marketing and coordination services contracts with a flat fee. Patients pay for medical care directly to your institution.
If we have an agreement with your institution, we say so on your profile.
- Step 1You send the form (two minutes).
- Step 2We check REPS, ReTHUS and accreditation.
- Step 3We write to you by WhatsApp or email.
- Step 4A written services proposal with a flat fee.
What we ask of a provider
We publish accreditation status as it is. JCI or no JCI, we do not dress it up.
- Current REPS habilitación for the cardiovascular services you offer.
- Professionals registered in ReTHUS.
- For cardiac surgery and TAVR, we prioritize JCI-accredited or nationally accredited (ICONTEC) institutions.
- Written, itemized quotes in USD or COP that state what is and is not included.
- A designated contact for international patients. If you do not have a bilingual team, we coordinate in English.
- Willingness to share annual volume and outcomes data when available.
Apply to partner
Three steps. We do not ask for documents at this stage; that comes later, in writing.
What happens next
Frequently asked questions
Do you charge a commission per patient?
No. We never charge per referred patient or take a percentage of a procedure. We work with written services contracts at a flat fee.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying and receiving a proposal is free and carries no obligation.
Is JCI accreditation required?
Not for every service. Current REPS habilitación is required. For complex cardiac surgery and TAVR we prioritize JCI-accredited or nationally accredited (ICONTEC) institutions.
Do we need an English-speaking team?
It helps but is not essential. We coordinate English communication with the patient; you need a designated contact and clear written quotes.
Can you correct what you publish about my institution?
Yes. Send us the source (official page, certificate or publication) and we update the profile with the date of the change.
Do you only work with cardiology?
This site is cardiovascular. The Colombia Medical network covers other specialties; apply here and we will point you to the right site.
How do you handle my data?
Under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012. We use your data only to evaluate a partnership and contact you. You can ask us to update or delete it at any time.
